Shades of grey against the subtly glittering white background evoke the feeling of a desolate, snow-laden landscape. The swirling white dots and snowflake motif represent the heart of a winter storm. The shimmering brown dots represent a barrier between two worlds, the veil between the human and faerie realms, as there are hidden places to travel through the wall. Ash arrows are central to this design, as they are central to this scene. Ebony black is used sparingly throughout the piece, a nod to the darkness so pivotal in Feyre's story.
"Winter Ash" is a portal into Feyre's world before one decision changes the course of her life. It is a piece of art that celebrates my newfound love of romantasy books and serves as my entry piece into world of bookish art.

Each mandala is created by hand in my studio with intention, patience, and precision. Every piece begins as a blank MDF round and transforms through layers of acrylic paint, intricate patterning, and luminous accents that catch the light from every angle.
