The Best Vegan Makeup Brand? Is that even a thing?
Imagine waking up each morning and starting the day with a luxurious vitamin-packed serum dotted gently onto your face. Your vibrant skin is protected from the sun after applying a thin layer of cream that doesn’t clog your pores. The dime-size drop of mattifying primer you smoothed on afterward makes your skin feel like silk. Finally, a sheer layer of mineral-based foundation leaves your skin feeling light and moisturized.
Now, imagine every single one of these products is natural, vegan, cruelty free, gluten free, non toxic, and palm free.
That is what it feels like to wear 100% pure makeup.
Oh, and you look like a bombshell as well.
Don’t take my word for it, ask Anna Kendrick, Vanessa Kirby, and the other celebs that rocked this cruelty free vegan makeup down the red carpet just last year.
I have been using 100% pure fruit pigmented makeup for over a decade now. It is, hands down, the best cruelty free vegan makeup brand your money can buy. Their selection is vast, their products are high quality, and their dedication to clean beauty is unparalleled.
Not to mention, 100% pure has a TON of amazing sales on their vegan makeup and vegan skincare products.
Each week there is something on sale at a massive discount. Yes, yes, I realize this is just good marketing – but it is also very good for my wallet. So, win-win in my opinion.
I’ve been preaching the use of 100% Pure beauty products ever since I began using them. To be honest, it was a tough crowd at first. My girlfriends all raised their MAC penciled eyebrows and smirked their YSL covered lips at my suggestion of a vegan makeup brand. Natural makeup? Vegan skincare brands? Not a chance. In their minds, organic vegan makeup meant one thing – shitty products.
But after a while, they couldn’t deny the results. The moment I started using 100% pure products, my skin slowly but surely started healing. I’ll be straight up – my skin was an absolute mess. I had little bumps alllll over my skin. Super small, but super annoying. There was no such thing as gliding on makeup, these little oil pockets would just bubble up everywhere, not quite a pimple, but more than a large pore. Just a sheet of bumps that I would normally slather over with a thick foundation.
The result – cake face. This is due to the fact that I have naturally oily skin and, while I know how beneficial this is in preventing wrinkles, it sure AF doesn’t help the makeup situation. I would put a massive amount of foundation on to cover my bumps and the acne that would pop up everywhere BUT my T-zone (i.e. hormonal acne). Then I would powder my face all day to try and keep the sheen down.
Cakeeee face. No matter what.
Oh, and don’t even get me started on being out in the sun with makeup on. It was never a good look.
The problem was that I had tried all the best makeup and skincare products on the shelf. Whatever someone could suggest, at any price, I would try it. All of it resulted in the same effect – cake face andddd sometimes a massive breakout. Just for fun.
To say I hated my skin was an understatement.
Ten years later, my 32-year-old skin is vibrant, healthy, and glowing. I don’t have a single wrinkle, bump, or pimple. There is no hint of crow’s feet and definitely no sagging skin anywhere. My forehead indent only slightly shows up when I raise my eyebrows – but that is unavoidable at any age unless you get botox. Side note – I am not against botox, I will absolutely get it when I need it, but wouldn’t it be nice to save the money and not have to do it earlier than necessary?
Back to the point – 100% pure is simply the best vegan and cruelty free makeup brand. I’ve even managed to persuade the most dedicated MAC lovers to try this vegan makeup and the result is always the same. Converted.
On that note – do yourself a favor and do not buy cheap vegan makeup. Yes, I know 100% pure makeup can be expensive. Like really expensive. I promise you – it is worth it. I use a fraction of the product I used to which balances out the higher price tag. Plus, my skin is protected from the sun (no premature sun spots or wrinkles for me), it’s moisturized and silky, and I feel like I am glowing with just the slightest bit of makeup. Did I mention the makeup is also good for you and good for the environment?
Just in case you aren’t convinced, however, I have a plan.
At least once a month I will post a blog where I go into depth on one of my many 100% pure products I use. I will tell you the pros and cons of each and be HONEST with you about it. I will share photos. I will even give you all the dirty details of how my skin was before and after using each product.
First up on the list: Mattifying Primer
I’ll be sharing this blog post soon. In the meantime, here are the links to some of my fav products from the photos.
- #1 eyeliner for the perfect wing: long last liquid eyeliner
- The only highlighter you’ll ever need: gemmed luminizer
